Quick project!

Using a £3 t-shirt from Primark, some grey lace 50p and some ribbon £1, add them altogether using ideas from

http://cottonandcurls.blogspot.co.uk/p/weekly-project.html
(scroll down and you will eventually see them)

bit of sewing gives you this;

A normal grey t-shirt from the front with a bit of a difference at the back!!

Notes to self;
I need to learn how to tie a bow properly as the way I do it, does not look as good, hmmm.

Also maybe not use a stretchy t-shirt as it does move a lot when sewing the lace.

I have done a black one as well but you can't really see it very well unless it's on and I can't take a picture at the mo as I'm on my own and in my PJs! Think I am going to use a red ribbon with the black t-shirt to make it stand out.

Ok so not sewing but still being creative!

I've recently just finished the summer term at my new school and I'm still alive!Yay!
To celebrate I went down to London to visit one of my lovely ladies,Ally, who has moved there with one of my other lovely ladies, Cat, to celebrate her new job so as a treat we went on a sandle making workshop where we would design and make our own sandles! This was at www.icanmakeshoes.com

After getting lost and dealing with rain (typical English weather) we got there and the creativity began!

 Making flowers for the front of her sandles.
 Cutting out all the lovely leather and suede for her sandles.
Final stage of gluing the soles onto the sandles so that we can wear them!

Ally's sandles- light brown suede soles with two tone brown leathers for the straps with a 3 tone leather plait for extra detail.
Gorgeous!

Cat's sandles- dark blue suede sole with yellow leather straps and buckle, with goregous blue checked flowers on the front! Cat definitly wanted flowers on hers and they look fab!

My sandles- Pink suede sole with brown and leather cross over straps at the front with a Tbar. There are three straps up the back to meet my ankle strap which are 2 brown with a pink strap in the middle.
Not sure why I picked these colours as I have no clothes but just thought the colours looked really good together.

Lovely day which ment we thought about this and nothing else. We all said we left all our worries and stresses behing and just focused on these which was brilliant and we all have gorgeous sandles as a result!

Twit twoo!!!

My friend's little girl is having her bedroom decorated as she is becoming  a big sister in 7weeks! It is all very exciting so I have made her an owl cushion as she is keen on owls and her bedroom is going to be a light pink with hints of purple and turquoise.  So I haven't done loads of sewing recently but I knocked this up in a couple of hours, found the pink material at the back a bit hard to sew as it was thin and kept ruching a bit, so used some of the fanatastic bond- a- web that my lovely sister bought me and used this to keep the rest of the bits on the owl before i sewed them on.

I like the bright colours and hope A will do to when she comes back from her hols at her grannies. Her Mum and Dad like it so thats all good!

Twit Twoo!

And the back
Can't wait to meet her little sister (99% sure it's a girl even though her Dad is hoping for the 1% ;) )
as they are an amazing family!
Now I have got 7 weeks to think of what else I can make for the new addition!

A mini project!

Wow it has been a long time since I have written on here. Had a really busy start to the year and I have had a lot of work on and lots of  DIY to do in the flat and no time for sewing :(
BUT it is half term and I have done DIY all week and caught up on work and seeing some lovely friends so I decided it was time to do some sewing. One of my very close friends is pregnant with her second child and what is really exciting it that we are all around this time, her first was when we were all at uni spread out over England, so we are having a baby shower and I decided I would make her a couple of bits. I have made her a bib which is exactly the same as one in an earlier blog and I have made a taggy blanket. Now normally when I want one of these for a friend I ask one of my lovely talented sisters to make me one but she is getting ready for an amazing holiday with her boys and very busy at work so I decided I would have a go at making one by myself using memory from the ones she has made me before eek!

I think it has turned out ok, not totally sqaure but I'm sure a baby will forgive me for that won't they??
It has a red fleecy back and then a range of ribbons around the outside for the baby to feel and I love the strawberry material so added that for a visual pattern for the baby.
Anyhow I hope she likes it and I can't wait to meet baby peanut and looking forward to my first ever baby shower!
